This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals (including our clients, the individuals whose personal information is collected from clients or other third parties, job applicants and prospective employees) who provide us with their personal information. 

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy and publish the modified version on this website. By continuing to use www.uman.com.au or UMan service you are consenting to the changes.

This website and UMan allows you to voluntarily provide information about yourself for the purposes of accessing the UMan service and job seeking. If you provide us certain personal information, and we collect such information we do so to allow you to benefit from the UMan services and this website. If you don’t agree to provide such information to us or do not agree to allow UMan to use such information as specified in this Privacy Policy, you should not provide such information.

We collect your personal information in the following ways:

We may collect your information when you speak to UMan about our service or when you enter data into a form on the website.  If you register to become a Member on the website or enter information into a form on the website you can provide the following contact information which you acknowledge is personal information that allows others, including UMan, to identify you: name, email address, phone numbers, address, CV.

We may also obtain your personal information from third parties such as our clients, your referees, educational institutions and current and former employers.

Member Information

If you become a Member, you may voluntarily provide additional information including Citizenship status, licences, training, copy of Visa(s), password and other information related to your career or job applications.

Any information you provide that is not personally identifiable may be used in the same manner and extent to which other information that is not personally identifiable is permitted to be used.

Members can build anonymous profiles on the website and choose the information that is in the profile. Candidate’s anonymous profiles are searchable and visible to anyone using the website. These profiles are anonymous and therefore only contain general information relating to experience, skills, licenses, location, availability and training certificates. These profiles do not contain personal identifiable information like candidate’s names, contact details, date of birth or current employment. Members can choose to change their status to ‘Not Looking’ and their profile will no longer be searchable or visible on the website.

How we share your information

Members have access to and control over their personal details and can edit any of their personal identifiable information and email preferences. A UMan Team member with full access to our site can access this information. Members can logon to the website and control if, when and who their personal identifiable information is released to or the Member can request a UMan Team member to do so for them.

By logging on to the website and selecting the menu “send my CV and contact details to this employer” you are confirming that the specific employer selected by you may see your contact details and have access to your CV. By requesting a UMan Team Member to send your CV to an employer you are confirming that the specific employer may see your contact details and have access to your CV. An employer your information is sent to may be located outside Australia. We may also disclose your information to UMan Team Members who may be located outside of Australia.

Cookies

We use cookies and web log files to track site usage to customize your experience on our website but don’t store personally identifiable information in the cookies.

We automatically receive the IP address of your computer. The link between your IP address and your personally identifiable information is not shared with third-parties without your permission or except when required by law.

Members can logon and access their personal information or we will, on request, provide you with access to the personal information we hold about you. Write to the privacy officer with your request to access your personal information at service@uman.com.au and provide proof of your identity.

UMan may need to disclose personal information when required by law, such as in response to legal process or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, for example, in response to a court order, subpoena or a law enforcement agency's request.

Important Information

Children are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us or use the service.

Our servers are housed in a secure data centre and our systems are regularly audited for possible vulnerabilities and attacks. The security of your login information is your responsibility.

All financial transactions are made securely through PayPal.

  • Job seekers are not charged a fee by us for finding that candidate employment
  • We do not knowingly advertise or allow to be advertised a position as being available when we know no such position exists; and
  • We do not knowingly giving misleading information to a candidate about a position.

If you wish to make a complaint about a privacy issue you can contact us using the contact details below.  Sufficient details regarding your complaint will be required as well as any supporting evidence and/or information. We will contact you if we require any additional information from you and will notify you in writing of the outcome of our investigation.  If you are not satisfied, you can contact us to discuss your concerns or complain to the Australian Privacy Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
