Position Overview:
The company is currently seeking a skilled Portable Fire Equipment Technician to join their team. This full-time position, mainly with work hours from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, offers a competitive hourly rate, with overtime opportunities. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing portable fire equipment on industrial, commercial, and domestic sites to ensure compliance with specific Australian Standards. You will also play a pivotal role in auditing client locations, quoting, and selling a full range of portable fire protection and safety systems, equipment, and services. In addition, we provide a uniform and a manual work UTE to support your daily tasks.

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and criteria:
- QBCC license for Portables Stream (Install and Maintain minimum) is essential, but training can be provided for a suitable applicant
- Valid and unrestricted open Queensland driver's Licence
- Construction induction card (white card)
- Eligibility for police certificate clearance for access to Government and other sites
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards AS1851 & AS2444
- Demonstrated experience using mobile service management applications, ideally Firemate
- Previous experience as a qualified Portable Service Technician
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new technology
- Customer service focus
- Please note that a Pre-Employment Gladstone 3-site medical is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities:
As a Portable Fire Equipment Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Servicing portable fire equipment on various sites to comply with Australian Standards
- Auditing client locations and quoting for portable fire protection and safety systems and services
- Identifying, repairing, and installing portable fire protection and safety systems and equipment to Australian Standards
- Applying knowledge of fire legislation and standards
- Identifying issues and non-conformances
- Quoting for new jobs and rectification work
- Preparing accurate and timely onsite service sheets and reports
