Having worked for a fire protection company for many years I was given the opportunity during this time to coordinate the testing and maintenance of the fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, hydrants and fire doors.  When I started this project there was no real system in place - the testers would come in and 'find' the jobs they thought needed doing.  It wasn't a good system, so I created a spreadsheet of all of the jobs the company had, found out when the testing was due to occur, when the annual fire safety statements were due and put a system in place.
I was involved in sending the team out for inspections, scheduling any repairs required, co-ordinating the tenants inspections with the base building inspections, preparing the annual fire safety statements, ordering and stock required, general maintenance of the files and correspondence to the clients.
