Entering the security industry in 1987, I began as a trainee security technician as my first job after leaving school. I developed a passion for the electronic security industry almost immediately, and that passion still remains today. Throughout my career, I have moved through various roles such as technician, monitoring station operator, service manager, and I eventually moved on to managing Monitoring Stations for a period of 14 years. I consider my main strengths to be that I am a good communicator, I have a genuine desire to help people, I have always felt right at home working within IT and all things technical, and combined with the fact that at the core of our industry our main mission is to protect peoples property and personal safety, I can think of no other industry I'd rather be in.
My many years in the industry have set me up as a highly experienced all-rounder. The skills I've acquired set me apart from many in the industry. I am highly experienced in IT. I come from an electronic security background, and due to my years of experience both in the field face to face dealing with clients and behind the scenes in management, I have faced pretty much every situation that is likely to be presented.
By my own choice, I decided to step down as a monitoring station manager after having spent 14 years in the role as wanted to get 'back to the tools' as a field technician.
